The actual appearance of the site was completed with the towers and the runned facade, of clearly Renaissance inspiration, heritage of the castilian-leonese school from Valladolid. In 1883, the Marchioness of Valladares marries Fernando Quiñones de León, Marquis of Alcedo. Then they proceed to the extention of the vila?s structure, impressing it with a marked english taste, reflected in the residence and the gardens. A walk in the garden… The garden was created in times of the I Marquis of Alcedo, having proof about the first camellias being planted by Marques Loureiro, in 1860, brought from his nursery in Portugal. It was continued by the IX Marquis of Valladares, with english staff. In the 70's, the orcherd was created under the management of Ángel Ilarri Gimeno, followed by different actions that took place until the 90's. The garden has three levels. The top,"A Rosaleda" (rose garden), starts at a yard covered with a metallic shell that used to be the greenhouse. The middle one is the french garden, with a box hedge almost labyrinthic. On the lowest level we can see the english garden, also known as the "Tea Meadow", furrowed by two path ways, that have a duck pond in the middle with a little island in which you can see a scale model of the vila.
